Ben Loman Cave

A short hike across the open savannah, to a cluster of limestone hills - Ben Loman's Cave.

This caving adventure blends three natural environments, starting with a short boat ride from Gales Point village across Southern lagoon, followed by a 15 minute hike over pine savannah to the forest at the base of several limestone hills.The trail up the hillside is an easy one and the cave itself an interesting combintaion of stalagmite and stalactite formations.

Ben Loman’s cave is located on the northwest shore of Southern Lagoon in the Belize district, near to Gales Point village. The lagoons here are known for a large population of Manatee anda "Manatee Watch" activity is a great addition to this cave tour.

This cave is considered easy to explore, but check with your tour guide if you have difficulty walking for an extended length of time.
