I do agree with you that Belize City is not the most beautiful city for touring, but as a resident of this city, safety here is not any worse than any U.S. city of 65,000 people. My husband manages a hotel in Belize City called Fiesta Inn Belize. We are aware that Belize City is the ideal central location for traveling the country of Belize, so we have created a "city within a city" type of environment. We have 2 restaurants, 2 bars, a swin up bar and a marinia (for traveling the cayes). I feel very safe here and we have tours to Lamani that leave directly from the hotel. I would love to tell you all about Belize. Lamani is only the tip of the ice burg.
