I'm afraid someone, or something, has scared the living hell out of you regarding Belize City. FYI - I am an American, married to a Belizean. Lived in Belize City for 2 yrs, visit now every 12-18 months. Belize is not for the faint-hearted, but then, you don't need to be a He-man to get around and do fine. Give me a shout if you want to know more specifics. But, please know, Belize is truly a jewel by the Caribbean Sea. If you defer from visiting due to a few uninformed coments, you will be the loser.
