The Prime Minister Manuel Esquivel is visiting the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. During his visit, the Prime Minister will meet with officials of the university and the consortium on Belize Education Co-operation. The purpose is to review the progress of projects being undertaken with the University College of Belize and other educational institutions.
It has been confirmed that there are eight cases of dengue fever in Belize. Results from a recent test that was sent to Trinidad returned last week, and Belize's ministry of health made the announcement during a press conference this morning. The Director of Vector Control Hilbert Linares says that a total of 38 samples were sent for testing. Meanwhile, the Minister of Health Salvador Fernandez stated that during the past few months his ministry has been preparing for a problem of this nature. Tomorrow there will be a seminar for physicians to review the clinical management of dengue and its complications.

A man was found dead at a farm near Valley of Peace yesterday evening. The body of Sylvestre Guillen was reportedly discovered around 3:30 yesterday evening by his son 45 year old Roberto Mira. Mira told police that he went looking for his father at his brother's farm on the Young Gal Road, seven miles south west of Valley of Peace where he found him lying face down. Mira said he last saw his father alive last Tuesday when he dropped him off at the entrance to the road that leads to the farm. Guillen's body was in an advanced state of decomposition.
